Naxal leader accused of attacking police arrested in Delhi


New Delhi: Police have arrested a 26 year old Naxal leader who was involved in an attack on police personnel in Jharkhand last December. He has been arrested for from a hideout in Delhi where he had been hiding for the last three months.

According to Joint Commissioner of Special cell Vivek Gogia, the Maoist named Chandeshwar yadav alias Naigna was arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police from Naale Wali Gali in Kapashera last night.

He maoist leader was allegedly involved in an IED blast targeting a Police Jeep in the Chatra district of Jharkhand on December 23, 2014 which killed a constable and injured another. He is a native of Diwaniya village of Gaya district of Bihar and was a sub-divisional commander of the Maoists.

He went absconding after carrying out the IED blast at Chatra. He was employed as a skilled worker at a factory in Udyog Vihar Industrial Area in Delhi.
