Nawaz Shariff calls Modi to condole quake deaths in India


New Delhi: Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Shariff had called Indian PM Narendra Modi to express condolence over the loss of lives in India due to the devastating earth quake.

The quake which struck on April 25 claims more than 5000 lives in Nepal with the death toll still climbing. In India approximately 77 people lost their lives to the quake, with Bihar being the worst hit with a toll of more than 50 alone.

The rescuers are still struggling to reach the remote areas near the epicenter of the quake in Nepal. The country has been practically reduced to rubbles. India has earlier launched ‘Operatin Maitri a rescue operation in Nepal and had sent the Gorkha soldiers to aid the rescue operation.
