Navy On High Alert After Suspected Terrorists Spotted


Mumbai: Indian Navy sounds highest state of alert in Bombay after suspicious movement of a group reported near harbor. 4-5 people spotted in army fatigues in Uran near Mumbai. Besides a naval base, Uran is also home to a JNPT container terminal. Top Navy sources said a search operation was on in tandem with Maharashtra Police and the Coast Guard.  They were spotted by students opposite to the Naval base,as per students they heard the men say ‘ONGC’ and ‘school’ repeatedly, Navy sources.

A Navy spokesperson said that keeping in mind the current situation, no alert can be taken lightly.

“Our helicopters are making sorties at and around Uran,” he said. DGP of Maharashtra Police Satish Mathur said the ‘suspected terrorists’ were spotted early in the morning at 6:30 am.

Two students – a girl and a boy – saw four to five people in Pathan suits and army fatigues with shoulder bags.
