National Recognition to RAF Officer for Humanitarian Services


Jamshedpur: Aswini Kumar Jha, the second-in-command of Rapid Action Force’s (RAF) 106 battalion has been nominated for the prestigious Lord Baden Powell National Award 2016 for his service to humanity.

Jha, is posted at Sundernagar camp office of the RAF in Jamshedpur.

The Scouts and Guides organization has decided to felicitate the RAF official in Delhi on February 22 on the occasion of World Scouts Day. Jha will receive the award from President Pranab Mukherjee.

Introduced in 2007, the objective of this memorial award is to promote brotherhood. Ever since it’s introduction, scouts and guides have been selecting personalities whose contribution have uplifted the common man to a higher level and helped the society grow. The awardees are selected from different fields every year. Jha will receive award along with 14 other recipients who have been selected by the scouts and guides.
