Narendra Modi to head Viswabharati

Bolpur: Although BJP witnessed a massacre in Delhi polls, it is visible that Modi charm hasn’t yet diminished. Modi is among the nomination filed by Bishwa Bharati University for the post of Chancellor. Two other nominees are former President of India APJ Kalam and Central Minister Karan Singh. The University has sent the names to President Pranab Mukherjee.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who is currently holding the post will be ending his term next month, after completing his three year tenure.

Although Singh is holding the post constanty from September 23, 2006 he never showed much interest nor much dedication to the University’s welfare, complained some teachers and students. He should have resigned like Indira Gandhi, Rajib Gandhi and Atal Bihari Vajpayee who resigned after losing the Prime Minstrel berth.

If interested, it is a matter of time for Modi to take reign of the renowned institution associated with nobel laurate Kabiguru Rabindra Nath Tagore.
