Kolkata: A PIL has been filed against Trinamul Congress Party for their alleged involvement in the Narada Sting Issue, in the Supreme Court, on Monday.

This comes as a blow to the TMC. The PIL was filed under Chief Justice’s bench. Final hearing will be held on Friday.

Several TMC leaders were seen taking bribes from a fictitious company, promising favours, in videos published by Narada News, a web portal.

Although, TMC initially rubbished the sting and termed it a conspiracy hatched by the opposition to attend political mileage, CM Mamata Banerjee later ordered an internal probe as pressure mounted.

The TMC party’s image is continuously being tarnished with the Sarada, then Narada Issue. The party faced an embarrassment when MP Derek O’Brien published 2 videos and 6 photos on Saturday, out of which one photo was “morphed”. He, later on, apologized. The BJP filed an FIR against CM Mamata Banerjee, MP Derek O’Brien and MP Subrata Bakshi. CPM  leader Prakash Karat also lodged a complaint against TMC in Delhi’s Mandar Marg Police Station.
