Kolkata : The Calcutta High Court has decided to send the footages of the Narada sting issue to Hyderabad for forensic examination.
The footages, the pen drive which has the videos and the phone which was used to shoot the video, would be sent to Central Forensic State Laboratory (CFSL) in Hyderabad. The Calcutta High Court has directed the Lab to submit the report within 3 weeks. Special measures must be taken so that the footages do not get leaked, as ordered by the HC.
Narada News(a web portal) had published videos of several TMC leaders and officers who were seen taking bribes from a fictitious company, which promised favours in return. The issue was transferred to the ethics committee by Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan.
The High court had decided to keep the footage in the locker of a central bank. It was maintained by a group of three people. An IPS officer was a part of the team. After preservating the footages, Narada News CEO Matthew Samuels had come to Kolkata a few days back.
The high court decided to send the footages to the Hyderabad lab for its examination.
