Mysterious ISIS terrorist ‘Jihadi John’ identified


London/Baghdad: The feared mask clad Islamic State militant known as “Jihadi John” who has been pictured in the videos of the beheadings of Western hostages, has been identified as Mohammed Emwazi.

Emwazi is a Kuwait born British man in his mid-20s from West London was previously known to the British Security Services. Emwazi first appeared in a video on August, 2014 when he apparently killed US journalist James Foley. In each of the videos, the militant appeared dressed in a black robe with a black balaclava covering all but his eyes and top of his nose.

British police citing the ongoing investigation declined to comment.

As reported Emwazi was also pictured in the videos of beheadings of US journalist Steven Sotloff, British taxi driver Alan Henning, British aid worker David haines and American aid worker Abdul-Rahman kassig alias Peter.

Known for his savagery in torturing and killing of hostages Emwazi was long sought by the security agencies. Hostages released by ISIS said he was one of three British jihadists guarding Westerners abducted by the group in Syria. They were known collectively as “the Beatles”.
