Myanmar Hammers Militants Towards Indian Border


New Delhi: As the Indian army is going all out against the NSCN (K) and its allies, the militants are facing a sledgehammer from both sides as the Myanmar army too is flushing them towards the Indian border.

According to a report after Indian Special Forces struck the militant hideouts inside Myanmar on June 9, a unit of the NSCN (K) hiding in the border sent a SOS to the central headquarters of NSCN (K) in Taga region of Myanmar.

Intercepted by Indian intelligence agencies the message revealed that Myanmar army is flushing the NSCN (K) mobile unit-5 from Myanmar side to Indian side. However there is still high threat in the area and army has cordoned off the whole border.

The inputs say that several cadres of NSCN(K) units including — mobile unit 5, 2nd brigade — are already camping in the Ukhrul (Manipur), Grihang (Manipur), Phek (Nagaland) and Tirap (Arunachal Pradesh) regions.
