New Delhi: The wholly-owned subsidiary of Mahindra and Mahindra, Mahindra Agri Solutions (MASL) has announced an advisory platform for farmers in the form of a mobile app, ‘MyAgriGuru’.
The newly launched app is available across India in Hindi and English for easy and convenient accessibility to farmers. It can be downloaded on Android smartphones. “We aspire to positively impact the lives of 75 million farmers by 2025,” said MD and CEO Mahindra Agri Solutions, Ashok Sharma.
“Delivering farm tech prosperity has always been a key business driver and a long-term vision for us at Mahindra,” added Sharma. Mahindra is working with Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) to source weather forecast for a five-day period, in order to ensure that that crucial farming activities are aligned with the climatic conditions. The company has also associated itself with Commodity Exchange – NCDEX in order to share real-time prices of various markets across the country.
Also, Mahindra looks forward to empower the farmers to compare prices and seek the best across states. Adding to this, Sharma said that the app comes in the wake of empowering the ‘Digital India’ notion, aiming to facilitate digitisation of the agriculture sector in India.
He added that it will play a significant part in achieving the government’s target to double the farmer income by the year 2022.
“This app will enable our farmers to make informed decisions at every stage of the farming process, which will boost both agricultural productivity and farm incomes substantially,” added Sharma.
