‘My Husband is Software Engineer, Not a Terrorist’

Bengaluru: Bushra, the wife of Mohammed Afzal, one of the IS suspects arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), on Friday said that her husband is a software engineer and has nothing to do with terrorists. Bushra said that at around 3 am on Friday several people with guns barged into their house and ransacked it.

“They did not say anything. They did not show even their ID cards. They just said that big officials from Delhi had come. They carried those weapons which were very heavy and big,” she told ANI.

“They took our laptop, car, bike, pen drive and everything. They even took Arabic literature. It was all Arabic lessons that we were taking to understand Koran better,” she added.

She also said that the Arabic literature found at her residence was related to an Arabic language course that they were taking to have better understanding of the Koran.

“We are normal people leading a normal life. We are a nuclear family just like many others in the city,” she said. She said that her husband works for a software company in Whitefield area of the city.

“He is a software engineer. And I am an HR recruiter who works from home. We do not have anything to do with this,” she added.
