Lucknow: Finally breaking silence on the Dadri lynching, Samajwadi party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav claimed that forces responsible for the Muzaffarnagar riots were behind the Dadri killing.
Indirectly hitting at BJP Mulayam accused the party of fanning communal trouble to attain political mileage.
“Those behind Muzaffarnagar riots were involved. We will take stern action against culprits once names are clear. Even if we have to sacrifice the government, we will take stern action against the culprits once the names are clear,” Mulayam said.
He also appealed to the people to cooperate and maintain harmony. “This is for the good of all,” he said.
Meanwhile, two persons have been arrested for allegedly spreading rumours on social media sites even as the administration today held peace meetings at the troubled spot to maintain communal harmony following the lynching episode.
While one person was arrested form Jewar, another was arrested from Surajpur area, District Magistrate N.P Singh said today.
Peace was disturbed in Bishada on September 28 when a 50-year-old man was bludgeoned to death over rumours of eating beef, triggering nation-wide outrage. Iqlakh’s younger son Danish, 22, who was critically wounded in the attack and is undergoing treatment at a Noida hospital, has come out of the ICU and is able to communicate with the family.
