Mumbai-Pune expressway disrupted due to heavy rain


Mumbai: Traffic along the Mumbai-Pune expressway has come to a standstill on Monday following a major landslide near Khandala tunnel. According to officials, loose mud and rockes slid down the hills at Khandala which is a popular hill station around 47 km from Pune.

The traffic has been diverted via old Mumbai-Pune Road. Mumbai has received a massive rainfall over the last few days with Kolhapur, Satara and Sangli districts also receiving a major monsoon. The condition is likely to prevail for couple of days more.
