Kolkata: On the occasion of Durga Puja Mukul Roy, a close aide of Mamata Banerjee resigns from his post from the Trinamool Congress on Monday. Mukul Roy will send the resignation to the Party.
While facing the media Roy said that he resigned from the working committee of TMC and after Puja Celebration he will also resign from the MP post.
He also said that as People are now busy with the Puja celebration so after the Puja celebrations he will clear the reason behind his resignation.
“This is my principle decision. I am going to resign from the post of working committee today itself. After Durga Puja, I am going to resign from Rajya Sabha, “Roy said.
Roy was removed by the party from the parliamentary consultative committee of the Home Ministry and replaced Rajya Sabha MP Manish Gupta.
This was not the end earlier this month the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee restructured the Trinamool Congress working committee and removed the post of the party vice-president.
The move comes as a blow to Mukul Roy, who was holding the post. After that he was remain just a member of the party’s working committee.
Even in the day of historic Shahid Divas (21st July) TMC MP and Youth Wing President Abhishek Bandopadhyay, who used to consider him as his ‘siksha guru’ completely ignored him and reportedly said that there is no need of people like Mukul Roy in the TMC Party. With this constant ignorance this week he decided to leave his Z category security.
Mukul Roy, was elected as the Rajya Sabha member in the year of 2006. After Mamata Banerjee resigned as the Railway Minister he was maintaining the additional charges of Railway Minister of India too.
