Kolkata: The security of Trinamool legislator Mukul Roy has been beefed up on Saturday following a threat from the Maoists. The move came after the Centre warned the West Bengal government of a possible Mao attack on Mukul.
However, the recent move has sparked speculation that the gap between Mukul Roy and chief minister Mamata Banerjee is finally narrowing.
The state government which so far remained reluctant despite intelligence warning has suddenly beefed Mukul’s security has ignited rumours that the Mamata-Mukul dinner diplomacy in New Delhi is a success.
On the other hand, the former Trinamool general secretary has said that he is still a member of the party and will do as directed.
