Mukul Roy Moves HC Seeking Anticipatory Bail


Kolkata: BJP leader Mukul Roy has moved to the Calcutta High Court seeking anticipatory over the TMC MLA death case. The hearing is likely in this week under the division bench of Justice Jaymallya Bagchi and Justice Abhijit Ganguly.

According to the statement of the plea filed, Mukul Roy left TMC in 2017 and joined the BJP party. Since then, more than 25 cases were filed against him in several police stations. Among these, 12 cases were rejected in High Court related to fraud in railways job.

Later on, 7 more cases were filed. Another case has been filed against Mukul Roy under sections 120 B of the Indian Penal Code at Handkhali police station over Satyajit Biswas murder case.

Roy’s lawyer Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya and Subhasis Dasgupta told the court that he is being forcefully involved intentionally.
