Mukul Roy Likely to Announce New Party in ‘Mahalaya’

Kolkata: Trinamool Congress’s fallen angel, former general secretary of the party Mukul Roy is likely to announce the formation of a new political party during the auspicious event of Mahalaya on Monday, sources reported.

As per reports Mukul will attend an event ‘Bhasha Samaj’ on Monday. He is alos expected to launch a magazine named ‘Khola Hawa’. Sources said that he is likely to resign from his MP post in November.

Although Mukul Roy has so far maintained an eerie silence over floating a new party, speculations are ripe as he never denied any of the reports.

A few days ago, a Bengali newspaper from northeast reported that Mukul has obtained the clearance of Election Commission and floated a new party named “Nationalist Trinamool Congress Party” and Mukul aide Amitabha Majumdar has been named as the President. The head office of the party is located in Dinhata, in North Bengal.

Mukul Roy though has formally refused to divulge whether he is joining this new political outfit and had maintained that he is still a Rajya Sabha MP from Trinamool Congress.

Once the linchpin of the party, Mukul slowly lost favour with West Bengal CM once his name cropped up in the Saradhha scam.
