Jammu: Amid the raging controversy over Sainik Colonies and a separate township for Kashmiri Pandits, Hizbul Mujahideen’s 21-year-old commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani Tuesday released a video warning of attacks on such colonies if they are set up in the Valley. The major part of the video message, however, was directed at the J&K Police warning them of more attacks.

“The Hindus of this place, who reside outside, they can come to their homes to stay there. If they stay at places where they have their homes, their land, they will find us as their guards…But these separate Israel-type colonies, this is an Indian conspiracy against us. We will act against them (separate Pandit colonies),” said Burhan in a six-minute video message released Tuesday.

He also vowed to target Sainik Colonies if they were set-up in the Valley, saying “Kashmir belongs to us”. However, the Hizbul commander, who has become the new poster boy of insurgency in Kashmir, assured a safe Amarnath Yatra this year.

“Recently a BSF officer has said that we are planning to attack the Amarnath Yatra. This is a lie…We have no plans to attack. We will not attack (the Amarnath Yatra). They come here to perform some religious rituals and we are not against them,” he said.

Burhan also claimed that the police force was forcing the militants to act against them. “Since last month, we have carried out many actions in which the Indian Army and the police were a target…The Indian Army is our enemy, but police is forcing us to act against them…We will act against every man in uniform who stands for Indian Constitution,” he said.

Burhan also asked youth, “who want to join them”, to keep a record of every policeman and police officer of their locality. “Get complete details about every policeman or police officer of their role towards the society with regards to movement and inform us about them…When the time is ripe, we will induct you,” he said. He asked police to join militant ranks. “Don’t harass youth or erect checkposts on roads…India is our real enemy and it wants to pit us against each other…I advise you to turn the barrel of your guns and enter the movement of freedom…,” said Burhan.
