MS Dhoni Fined For Code Of Conduct Breach

Jaipur: MS Dhoni, the Chennai Super Kings captain, was fined 50 percent of his match fees for breaching the VIVO Indian Premier League’s (IPL) Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Rajasthan Royals at Jaipur.

Mr Dhoni admitted to the Level 2 offence 2.20 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction.Known as the ‘Captain Cool’, the Chennai Super Kings skipper walked on to the pitch in an unlikely fashion in the final over of the Indian Premier League match against Rajasthan Royals despite him being out third ball in the same over.

Ben Stokes’ fourth ball of the 20th over was a full toss to Mitchell Santner with CSK needing eight runs off the final three balls. Umpire Ulhas Gandhe signalled for a no-ball immediately after the ball was bowled, but went to consult square-leg umpire Bruce Oxenford to take a final call, and that was when the drama unfolded.
