Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha and three others accused have been acquitted by the Karnataka High Court in the disproportionate assets case on Monday. The special Bench of Karnataka High Court has delivered its verdict on Jayalalithaa’s appeal challenging her conviction by the lower court.
Strict vigil is being maintained on the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border, especially in the Hosur area.
As ruling AIADMK workers in Tamil Nadu, which remained on edge, organised ‘poojas’ in temples and took out processions praying for a favourable judgement, the Bangalore police clamped prohibitory orders in one km radius of the High Court besides beefing up security.
