Mortal remains of Kalam being flown to Delhi


Guwahati: The mortal remains of former President APJ Abdul Kalam is being flown to New Delhi where last kalam_respect_2respects will be paid to the 11th President of India before his body is taken to his hometown in Rameswaram for last rites.

The former President was paid last respects after his body arrived at Guwahati from Shillong in an Air Force Helicopter. Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and senior IAF paid tribute to India’s missile man.

His coffin carrying his body was wrapped in tricolour and was taken inside the aircraft for being flown to Delhi where his body would be received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will be taken to his residence at 10 Rajaji Marg where it will be kept for people to pay their last respects before being taken to his hometown in Rameswaram for last rites.

His body was taken to Military Hospital of Shillong where it was kept for the night and and flown to Guwahati in an Air Force Helicopter on early Tuesday morning.
