Darjeeling: Two joint Morchas named Gorkha Janomukti Morcha and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha will go for a strike on 10th December over Tea garden issues, Morchas said on Wednesday.

This was announced at the Tribal welfare centre at Nagrakata by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s head John Barla. The function held at Dooar’s Nagarkata’s Europian Club.

According to Morcha, the tea gardens have been kept out of the bandh radar as there are plenty of works to be done at the tea gardens during the winter season. If the tea garden is closed for one day then the tea garden workers will not receive a single day’s payment resulting in more problems.

Already 5 to 6 tea gardens in Dooars is already closed. And work in duncan’s  gardens has been stopped.
