Moon Sighted In India, Eid To Be Celebrated Today


New Delhi: The Eid Chand or the crescent of the Shawwal moon has been sighted in Delhi. Official confirmation on the celebration of Eid has been made by the Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid.Well the festival will be celebrated across the country on Saturday.

Eid-Ul-Fitr is “the feast of the breaking of the fast” that begins when the moon rises on the final day of Ramadan.About 1.6 billion Muslims across the world marked the festival this year.The festival of Eid will be celebrated in India on June 16 as the crescent moon was sighted on June 15 evening.
