New Delhi: The three week monsoon session of the Parliament will be commencing on July 21. The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) is learnt to have recommended the dates which for the session. The government is expected to undergo wraths from the opposition over the ‘Lalitgate issue’.
Earlier it was proposed to commence the session from July 20, a Monday. But since the festival of Eid may fall on July 18 or 19, a decision was taken to start it from July 21.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh heads the CCPA and has several senior ministers including Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu as its members.
Congress has already warned that they would jeopardise the session if External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje are not made to resign. BJP has however rejected the demand.
