Kolkata: Mohun Bagan’s chase to build a formidable squad for the forthcoming season continues, as the Green and Maroon brigade is tracking the new Argentine sensation as a back-up option of Haitian wizard Sony Norde.
Mauro Ortiz, the Argentine U23 national team attacking spearhead is now linked with Indian football giant Mohun Bagan. Ortiz, who plays as a no.10 is a Boca Juniors graduate and is said to be the next big thing in Argentine football.
As per sources, it is learnt that the Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen too is very much excited about the youngster and asked the club to negotiate the process. Ortiz’s agent too claimed to a sports website that they have started the initial talks to land the supremely talented forward,
Ortiz came to in India in the last year at Calicut, Kerala to play Sait Nagjee International Football Tournament and represented Argentina U23 National Team.
His lightning speed, sublime shooting quality, build-up play and brilliance on dribbling have already earned praises from the Argentine football legends. It is also learnt that three or four ISL franchises too are in the race to sign Ortiz for the forthcoming season. But Mohun Bagan, reportedly are keenly interested to recruit him.
The agent of Ortiz also claimed that he is well within the budget of the Indian clubs. If Ortiz signs for Bagan, it will certainly create a worldwide news in the transfer market.
