Beijing: Union Minister for External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj, who is on a four day visit to China said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting China in May this year.
Sushma Swaraj’s China visit is considered to be an important one as India seeks to give the message to China that there are no hard feelings over India’s Joint Statement along with the US during Barack Obama’s visit to India last week.
China reacted angrily to the statement hinting that it won’t be easy for India to become a member of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG). Ms Swaraj also talked about the Prime Minister’s keenness in giving a new momentum to the ties with China.
Over the defence related issues she said that the two countries have made considerable progress in establishing and expanding defence contracts including border.
Foreign Minister will be meeting Chinese President Xi Xingping on Monday.
