Madhya Pradesh will be the first of the four states where Modi is scheduled to address similar farmer rallies to speak on the newly launched Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PM Crop Insurance Scheme) to provide insurance cover and financial security to the agrarian community in case of crop damage and failure due to natural calamities and other disasters, including attack by pests.
The venue for Modi’s meeting was finalized after a marathon meeting of state BJP top brass at the party’s office here on Thursday. Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, state BJP president Nandkumar Singh Chouhan, former CMs Sundarlal Patwa, Kailash Joshi, veteran leader Kailash Sarang, BJP national vice president Prabhat Jha, MPs, MLAs, party office bearers from across the state, BJP farmer leaders were present in the meeting.
The party has asked all BJP workers and leaders to bring as many farmers from the rural areas to the venue. The objective would be to reach Modi’s Fasal Bima Yojana to every agrarian household in the state.
Chouhan argued that farmers should be brought in large numbers to witness the event and hear what Modi has to say. All 23,000 village panchayats will pass its own proposal on the Fasal Bima Yojana, which will be presented to Modi.
While Modi will address the huge gathering of farmers and educate them on the new crop insurance police, various agrarian organizations will felicitate him for the financial security that has been extended to the agricultural sector.
