Modi meets Singapore President on ‘Smart cities’

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and and Singaporian President Tony Tan Keng Yam on Monday held talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the government’s initiatives to build ‘Smart cities’, skill development, connectivity and boosting linkage with North-east India. President Tony Tang is on a four day visit to India from February 8 on the invitation of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee.

Tang’s visit also marks the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries. Taks covered areas of India’s developmental process including Smart cities and urban rejuvenation initiatives, promotion of skill development and measures to speed up connectivity and development of port and coastal and port development.

Both the countries have agreed to share their experience on Science and technology, space and other areas to enhance productivity and efficiency as well as co-operation in fighting terrorism.
