Modi meets Mamata at the Parliament


New Delhi: The meeting between the PM of the country and the CM of the State has come to an end. According to reports, Mamata has sought an interest waiver on the repayment of huge debt. She even expressed the demand of additional revenue to the state.  Now it is to be seen in what lines does this meeting bear fruit for the state. As per sources, discussions were supposed to be held regarding the Teesta issue as well. Senior TMC leaders including West Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra, Chief Secretary Sanjay Mitra and other officials were also present during the meeting.

According to Mamata Banerjee, PM has listened to all the points by Mamata and said that the State is showed a financial discipline. West Bengal has worked well in all aspects. Considering these points, the Modi Sarkar will definitely look into the matter, said the CM of West Bengal.

Mamata Banerjee will be taking part in a ‘cha-chakra’ at Delhi in the evening. The MPs of TMC are likely to be a part of the tea party. However, former general secretary of TMC Mukul Roy will not be a part of the meeting.

On February 25, Banerjee had written to the Prime Minister seeking an appointment and urging him to consider the debt waiver immediately.
