Dhaka: PM Modi met former Bangladesh PM Khaleda Zia on Sunday and President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhawan and held discussions on bilateral issues.Modi also met leaders across party lines and interacted with business leaders.Prime Minister also met Leader of the Opposition in Bangladesh Begum Raushan Ershad.
He also met President of leading chambers of commerce and industry in Bangladesh.Modi later met leaders of left parties.Prime minister Narendra Modi visited the new chancery complex of the High Commission of India at Baridhara in Dhaka. At the complex, the Prime Minister unveiled plaques for Grant-in-Aid projects. He interacted with differently abled children during the unveiling ceremony.He also planted a sapling in the complex.
Prime Minister Modi met officials of Indian High commission and also interacted with their families.Earlier in the morning, PM Modi began his second day in Bangladesh with a visit to 800 years old Dhakeshwari Temple, known as the Dhakeshwari Jatiyo Mandir.
He offered prayers at the temple and was offered a memento by the temple authorities.
