Darjeeling: Some unidentified miscreant were attacked on Bhagini Nivedita’s Roy Villa at lobog road in Darjeeling on Thursday.
The large four storeyed building located on Lebong Cart Road in Darjeeling. Miscreants were set fire in Nivedita’s picture, many document and attack in prayers room. The building is now under Ramkrishna Mission and renamed as Ramakrishna Mission Nivedita Educational and Cultural Centre.
According to the sources, Tourism Minister of West Bengal Gautam Deb allegations against to the Morcha protester for that issue. Maharaj of the (Ramakrishna Mission Nivedita Educational and Cultural Centre) condemned about this incident.
Police were reached at the place and starting their investigation. Banned organization GLP (Gorkhaland personnel) may have behind this incident.
State Government has sanctioned Rs. 1 crore for its restoration and its Information & Cultural Department will look after the heritage building. Nivedita Educational & Cultural Center has some more plans and they execute, Free Computer Training Centre, Free coaching center for joint entrance examinees and IAS / IPS aspirants and Skill Development Centre for empowering women.
