Few days ago a massive bomb blast ripped in hills, reportedly, it has been noted that a big conspiracy of creating trouble in hills was also carried out near Peshkkhola. The miscreants tried to blow out a bridge that connects Darjeeling and kalinpong, but, as the bridge is made of iron so their plan was not successful.Large troops of police has been deployed at the spot. A morcha leader was also arrested in this matter.
Under this panic situation on Tuesday The West Bengal government refused to discuss the demand for a separate Gorkhaland state raised by some hill-based outfits during an all-party meeting here, as it requested them to withdraw the ongoing indefinite shutdown in the north Bengal hills.
Rejecting any discussions on Gorkhaland, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee argued that the matter was not under the state government’s jurisdiction.
