Patna: The Left parties, in a bid to ensure that their ‘Bharat bandh’ call against demonetisation had the desired impact, used small children below the age of ten during their protest march in Patna. These small children were heard shouting “Azaad” slogans during the protest march.

These small children, who were holding placards and flags in their hands, were spotted when a group of CPI workers reached the Dak Bungalow roundabout to protest against scrapping of old high value currency notes and subsequently the inconvenience being caused to the common man.

“Note bandi ka matlab hai aadmi ko khane ko nahi mil raha hai,” said another minor boy. When India Today questioned some senior CPI workers, who were part of the protest against demonetisation, they tried to defend the indefensible.

“Children are worst affected due to demonetisation. Their parents are in the protest march. What is wrong if these children are shouting slogans?” defended Akash Gaurav, a CPI worker.

“We are not using children. The parents of these children are today standing in queues and when they children want food, it’s obvious that they will come on the street to protest,” said Amrita, another CPI worker.
