Minor tsunami strikes Japan


Tokyo: Japan was hit by a minor tsunami after a strong undersea earthquake struck off the coast.

A wave of 20 centimetres was recorded in Kuji. Japan’s Meteorological Agency had warned that the waters were still rising but there is no sign of any danger.

No damage or casualities were recorded but local authorities issued evacuation orders to more than 19,000 people.
