Minor quake jolts Papua New Guinea


Wau: A minor quake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale shook Papua New Guinea on Friday around 3:53 pm. The quake originated at a distance of 89km SSE of Wau, Papua New Guinea. No report of any damage caused by the quake has been received yet.

Earlier on Thursday a quake of magnitude 6.9 hit the Solomon Island, although no Tsunami alert has been initiated.

On the other hand tremors measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale jolted Nepal. No report of any damage done has been received yet.
