Update: Aamir Khan ceases to be mascot for govt’s incredible India campaign contract for which has expired: Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma
New Delhi: The Ministry of Tourism on Wednesday denied reports that Bollywood actor Aamir Khan was removed as the brand ambassador for its Incredible India campaign.
In a press statement, the Ministry said, “In response to certain news reports appearing in the media, about Shri. Aamir Khan, the Ministry of Tourism clarifies that there is no change in the stand of the ministry in this matter.”
The Ministry further clarified that at present it has a contractual agreement with creative agency Mc Cann Worldwide to produce social awareness campaign and that the said campaign featured Aamir Khan.
The campaign focuses on spreading awareness regarding cleanliness, honesty and good behaviour towards tourists.
