New Delhi: The Minister of State for Tourism, Culture and Civil Aviation, Dr Mahesh Sharma has condoled the passing away of noted sculptor and artist Ms Mrinalini Mukherjee. She died at the age of 65 and has to her credit a splendid career in the field of sculptures. Her artistic works are known for the use of knotted hemp fiber, ceramics and cast bronze. The exhibitions of her work have been held abroad in the countries like UK and Europe.
“I am deeply saddened to learn of the demise of Ms Mrinalini Mukherjee. She leaves behind a vacuum in the world of art. Her artistic works brought laurels to her not only in India, but in the outside world also. Her artistic qualities provide her at a unique place in contemporary Indian art,” the Minister said.
