Bengaluru: Karnataka’s Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa (83) today collapsed while addressing the Independence Day celebrations in Shivamogga, central Karnataka. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he is presently undergoing treatment and is said to be out of danger.
Thimmappa, who started his address at the district parade ground, became speechless in between and lost his balance. His aides rushed to the podium and took him in an ambulance to the nearest hospital.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah spoke to the minister’s family over phone. One of the senior most leaders of the Congress, Thimmappa was drafted into the Cabinet recently.
