Kolkata: The State Transport Department will be plying six new vessels across Bengal from February 23. The launch programme will take place at Millennium Park in Kolkata. Another three are nearing completion and will be pressed into service within the next two months.

The vessels have been built in line with the new State Government policy. The maximum capacity of each vessel will be 100 passengers. These six will replace semi-mechanised boats or small country boats that have been plying on different rivers of the state.
