Militants Abducted Son And Father, Fired Random Gunshots


Srinagar: Militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora on Thursday barged into a civilian’s home in Hajin and abducted a man and his son.

Subsequently the terrorists abducted Abdul Gaffar and his son Manzoor Ah Bhat. However, Abdul Gaffar was successful to escape from them inspite of being fired upon, and sustaining injuries.

Abdul Gaffar has been hospitalised where he is beeing treated, but his son Manzoor is still with the terrorists. A massive manhunt to trace the abducted person has been launched.A case into the matter under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation taken up.

On Monday, the police had said that militants abducted a man and seriously injured three others in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district. “At 10.10 pm, on Monday, four militants believed to be affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) barged into Farooq Ahmed Parrey’s house in Hajin area and started firing indiscriminately,” police sources had told.

“The militants injured Farooq’s wife, daughter and brother with knives and abducted his son-in-law. Efforts are on to locate him,” the sources had added. “The terrorists used knives to cause grievous injuries to wife, daughter and brother of Farooq,” a police spokesman had also told PTI. The spokesman had said the militants had killed Farooq Ahmad’s son last year.
