Jammu: Security forces busted a terrorist hideout on wednesday and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition, including five weapons, in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Army, SSB and police launched a joint search operation in Kindre-Suigarh forests in Doda district, an Army spokesman in Bhaderwah said.
They busted a terrorist hideout from a natural cave and recovered a total number of five weapons and other arms and ammunition, including AK 56 rifle, Chinese pistols, one .303 rifle, one UBGL, two hand grenades, 11 AK magazines, 5 pistol magazines, 3 radio sets and explosive material along with ammunition of 3 UBGL, approximately 1131 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, he said.
“The recovery of war-like stores was possible only due to the accurate intelligence developed by the Army and launching of well-synchronized joint operation with police and SSB in the dense forests, in a relentless day and night operation of 24 hours.
“Apart from the four columns of Rashtriya Rifles, the team also included one ASI along with 10 constables of JKP from Gandoh Police Station and one Assistant Commandant, five constables of 42 Bn SSB Gandoh,” SSP Doda Zahid Naseem Manhas said.
