Mild Quake Jolts North Bengal

Siliguri: Mild quakes jolted Siliguri and adjacent areas in North Bengal on Sunday as shock waves travelled from Nepal. Tremors measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale rocked Nepal today. The quake is said to have originated in Nepal’s Kodari, at a depth of 10 km under the surface. No immediate report of any damage to life or property has been received yet.

Nepal had earlier been devastated by the April quake claiming the lives of at least 8,000 people and virtually reduced the Himalayan nation to ruins.
