Menlo Park: Facebook’s chat app has crashed unexpectedly for users around the world. The Messenger app was hit with outages beginning around 9am (ET) this morning, according to Down Detector.
It comes just one week after Facebook Messenger was hit by an outage that lasted for almost an entire day. The outage appears to be affecting users in the UK, Europe, and the east coast in the U.S.
Some users reported having issues replying or sending messages, while others said they weren’t able to see which users are online.
About 40 percent of users said they had trouble connecting to Messenger’s servers, while 32 percent said they couldn’t receive messages and 27 percent said they were unable to login to the service, according to Down Detector.
