Kolkata: With the northwesterly gradually gaining strength and icy winds from Kashmir and Himachar Pradesh set to flow into the city, Kolkata may witness chilly days ahead. On Friday, Kolkata recorded a minimum temperature of 18.4°C.
“The mercury is spiralling down slowly but steadily, which is an good sign. It will continue to slide marginally till Saturday evening. After that we can expect a sharper drop. In the next three days, we may see mercury plunge to 15-16 degrees,” said GK Das, director, Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC).
Das added “The winds should start carrying in the chill by Saturday night. The city should feel the nip by Sunday morning,” said Das.
