Kolkata: The city’s temperature dropped slightly on Friday, making the people believe that the cold wave condition may stay for a few more days in South Bengal.
The Regional Meteorological Centre, however, predicted that the sudden rise and fall in the temperature is quite common during this period. The Met office also said that the cold wave condition that has been still prevailing in some of the South Bengal districts, may stay for the next couple of days. There is, however, a prediction of light rainfall in some North Bengal districts.
The lowest temperature in the city on Friday touched 12.6 degree Celsius, whereas on Thursday the city’s temperature was recorded at 12.6 degree. A senior official of the weather office said that the mercury may hover around 12 degree Celsius in the city in the next few days. “There is a prediction of rainfall in North Bengal and Sikkim in the next two days. There is also a possibility of snowfall in Sikkim. Temperature in some North Bengal districts may go down further,” a weather official said.
