Rajya Rani Express Derails Near Rampur, 10 Injured


Update: UP CM Yogi Adityanath announces Rs 50,000 each for seriously injured, Rs 25,000 each to injured.

Lucknow: Eight coaches of Meerut-Lucknow Rajya Rani Express derailed on Saturday near Rampur in Uttar Pradesh.

The incident took place at around 8 am. At least 10 people have been reported to be injured.
Following the incident, police rushed to the spot. Rescue operation underway.

This is the second train derailment in less than a month’s time in Uttar Pradesh. On March 30, eight coaches of Mahakoshal Express derailed on the stretch between Kulpahar and Mahoba in Uttar Pradesh, leaving at least 25 people injured.

Four AC coaches, one sleeper class coach, two general coaches and a luggage coach of the Mahakoshal Express, which runs between Jabalpur and New Delhi, derailed around 2.30 am.
The train derailed moments after it left from the Mohoba station.
