Kolkata: The two sniffer dogs of NDRF team Max and Romeo are the hit pair of the rescue operation of collapsed Majerhat bridge. Even the NDRF team is depended on these two heroes as they are tirelessly helping the team to trace the humans buried under the debris of the collapsed portion of the bridge.
The two canines sometimes wags their tails and move with their tongue out in a relaxing mood.But when it’s time for their duty they are very busy performing it well. On Tuesday Max and Romeo have worked tirelessly along with the NDRF team from the night to next day morning. On Wednesday both of the four limb hounds have been helping the NDRF team to trace humans under the debris in the Ekbalpur direction, with their assistance the NDRF team was successful in evacuating humans from the debris of the collapsed bridge. Therefore, the role of these two entities are as important as the role of Police, Army and NDRF force.For the past two and a half years Max and Romeo are members of the NDRF team. However, they have to undergo various tests before getting the job jobs. In the first six months Max and Romeo were trained in Delhi and Bhubaneswar. Finally, after qualifying the test these two canines were recruited in the NDRF team. Now their address is in Harinaghata of North 24 Parganas. They have been brought here for the evacuation work purpose on Tuesday at Majerhat.Both Max and Romeo are very dear to Army. Romeo is an Alsatian dog, black and brown in colour, so his nick name is ‘Kalu’. Max is a Labrador dog, golden in colour. Their colleagues, the Army officials very are proud of them. Amid the rescue work at Majerhat, the activities of the Max and Romeo pair are winning Kolkatans heart.
