Barrackpore: Matua Mahasangha premier Mamata Bala Thakur has advised all the members and supporters to raise voice against National Registers of Citizens (NRC) wherever the group will organise in several worshiping places. In an inauguration programme of Matua Mahasangha Office in Habra she has taken a rejuvenating role to the supporters.
Mamata Bala Thakur is Member of Parliament of Trinamool Congress party and head of Matua Mahasangha. Recently, a delegation team of TMC consisting Sukhendu Sekhar Roy, Mahua Maitra, Arpita Ghosh, Mamata Bala Thakur went to Assam to supervise the Bengali people who are not in the NRC list.They have allegedly manhandled in Silchar International Airport which sparked nationwide criticism in the political sector.
Mamata Bala Thakur in her speech in the programme said that “I feel proud that West Bengal CM sent me to supervise the situation in Assam. If I would have entered the jail i would have been happy that I did something for my society.”
The Trinamool Congress MP and daughter-in-law of Binapani Devi said that, Matua is a pressure group of the Namasudra caste. We were Indian when we came from Bangladesh and still we are Indian. So no point behind NRC. So wherever we will organise harisabha we will talk about NRC.
A solar power system has been installed in the new office in expense of approximately 5 lakh which has been inaugurated on Sunday. A new statue has been unveiled in a same row. To spread education an English coaching centre has been opened in Habra for those who are in economically critical situation.
