Matthew Samuels Summoned By Kolkata Police


Kolkata: Narada News CEO Matthew Samuels has been summoned by the Kolkata police on Thursday.

The anti-corruption branch of Kolkata Police has sent an email summoning him immediately to Lalbazaar for the Narada Sting issue.

On Sunday, mayor of Calcutta Corporation Sovan Chatterjee’s wife Ratna Chatterjee had filed a complaint against Matthew Samuels at the New Market Police Station.

As per sources, Matthew Samuels was booked by the Kolkata Police, under several sections of the Indian Penal Code including a defamation case, on the basis of the complaint filed. As per the Kolkata Police, on the basis of the complaint, a special team was set up under the supervision of the CP Rajeev Kumar. Crime investigators are a part of this team.

Ratna Chatterjee accused that prior to the Bengal assembly elections; producing such a video was a complete conspiracy against her husband. Defamation law suit was also filed against him. Narada news CEO Matthew Samuels has although completely denied all such allegations. He said that it is a political conspiracy against him. He termed this as a conspiracy against him. He has also said that he would consult his lawyer with this issue.

A few days back, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had announced to probe into the Narada sting issue under the supervision of the CP Rajeev Kumar. Prior to the elections, Narada news released videos which had persons resembling to several MPs, ministers, MLAs, were seen accepting bribes from a fictitious company promising favours in return.
