Beijing: A magnitude 6.5 earthquake has struck central China, the US Geological Survey reports. The quake struck 200km (120 miles) west northwest of the city of Guangyuan in Sichuan province, which is regularly hit by tremors, at a depth of 10km (6 miles), USGS said.
It earlier put it at 6.6 magnitude and 32 km deep. There were no immediate reports of damage. A quake in Sichuan in May 2008 killed almost 70,000 people.
